What are they?

IAPT’s BAME Wellbeing Sessions are open to women from the Urdu community who would like to learn proven techniques to overcome common symptoms of anxiety and low mood.

There are five enjoyable sessions, lasting 2 hrs and delivered by two NHS professionals. You will have an opportunity to learn how to make some positive changes and learn techniques to improve your wellbeing. It is also an opportunity to meet other women who may share similar feelings to you. You will not be asked to share your personal experiences during the sessions. You will receive a free workbook to use throughout the sessions. The sessions are currently run online.

  • There are 5 sessions which run on a weekly basis one for Low mood and one for anxiety and worry.
  • The sessions last for 2 hours and a qualified interpreter will be available.
  • You will receive the most benefit from attending all 5 sessions.
  • During these sessions we will ask you to complete a mood questionnaire to help monitor progress.
  • In the rare circumstance that a course would need to be cancelled, we would notify you immediately and advise you about what to do next.
  • Please be aware that during these sessions due to confidentiality and safety, it’s important to be somewhere quiet and safe by yourself.
